LAUNCH OPERATIONS
BALLS 21
is sanctioned by The Tripoli Rocketry Association, Inc. There will be Insurance at this launch however, EVERYONE attending, observing, participating or just existing in the area MUST sign a release waiver AND pay the event fee. Special Ground Support equipment will be the responsibility of the individual or Team. There will be a range set up with a limited number of launch pads. A central LCO will control ALL launches within the range, about 2,000 feet, AND any and all launches conducted out of area on the playa for ALL days of the BALLS event. If you require anything special, bring it yourself. If using an "Away Cell", or a launch pad out of the range controlled by the LCO, you must provide communications with the LCO before launching.

AGAIN - IF YOU NEED SPECIAL EQUIPMENT or GROUND SUPPORT
BRING IT YOURSELF!

AND MORE IMPORTANT STUFF!

BIG STUFF
BALLS 21
is run under the Tripoli Research Rules, available HERE in PDF file requiring Adobe Reader to view and print. Anyone planning on flying an O motor, or above, must contact the Sponsors prior to arrival at the launch. Anyone planning a Q motor, or above, or Hybrids (other than Nitrous Oxide), or Liquid Engines MUST request written approval from the Tripoli Board of Directors. This does NOT mean the day before the launch! It is recommended everyone have their "requests" approved by LDRS. Q and above flights should forward a copy of their BOD approval to the Launch Director, Mark Clark, at the soonest date. Registration is REQUIRED by EVERYONE planning to attend.

THIS IS IMPORTANT STUFF TOO!

Because of the nature of activities children are discouraged. It is near impossible to concentrate on a large potentially dangerous project and watch your child at the same time. Don't say you can do it. History has already proved you wrong. Add to this kids always seem to end up where they shouldn't be or riding bikes and atv's through prep areas.

TAKE YOUR TRASH & CRASHES WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE!

In the past at BALLS we have had a problem with people letting their kids run wild. We have had to tell them repeatedly to stay behind the safety lines. Since it is always, "not my child that does that", no kids will be allowed. The few have ruined it for the many. It has been noticed in the trash picked up there is a lot of "kid stuff" in it. They do not pick up after themselves and the parents are in denial. We do not want to lose the best launch site in the US, maybe the world, due to blowing trash, BLM's biggest complaint. I know this sounds harsh, but there is no way to have EVERY parent be responsible.

The last launch went very well regarding this subject. Let's keep it up and be SAFE!

Be realistic and intelligent, BALLS is not a family environment.
- Mark Clark, Launch Director

THIS IS NOT A FAMILY EVENT, CHILDREN ARE DISCOURAGED
