BY-LAWS OF I NAME II PURPOSE
A. The purpose of NEVADA AEROSPACE SCIENCE ASSOCIATES shall be to promote Amateur, Experimental and Research Rocketry as a hobby and sport through the uniting of like-minded individuals for research, activities and commradery. B. To provide support to all members in safety, legal requirements and technologies relating to Amateur, Experimental and Research, Rocketry. C. To develop, collect and disperse technology, information and data related to Amateur, Experimental and Research Rocketry and its surrounding fields of endeavor to members first then, upon membership approval, to others. D. NASSA is a private organization of individual members sharing a common interest, and is not associated
with Tripoli Rocketry Association, the National Association of Rocketry, or any other non-profit, commercial,
or governmental organization.
III LOCATION IV MEETINGS & LAUNCHES B. A quorum for conducting business at the Annual Business meeting shall be those members attending. C. Regional meetings may be held to accommodate members for the purpose of activities related to research and non-binding organizational business. These regional meetings are not mandatory for all members to attend. D. NASSA will declare one launch a year as mandatory for all members to attend. This launch will be agreed upon by all members in ample time to make arrangements to attend. E. The Annual Business meeting will
normally be held in conjunction with the Annual Launch to provide ease of member’s attendance.
V FISCAL
YEAR VI MEMBERSHIP B. Persons invited to membership within NASSA must pledge to membership conditions and obligations:
C. Persons wishing membership in NASSA must first become familiar with existing members and purpose and goals of the Association. D. A person wishing NASSA membership must be sponsored by an existing member and approved having no negative votes from the existing members. E. Invitation to join NASSA must be responded to within two weeks from date of invitation. No response, or response of refusal, will have no further invitations extended. F. Those members unable to fulfill their commitment to attend the Annual Meeting and Annual Launch due to personal obligations may balance their commitment by participating actively in Local NASSA Meetings and/or Workshops, activities considered related to the purpose of the organization . . TERMINATION
B. When termination of membership is proposed, the matter is to be discussed by all of the remaining members. The discussion can occur in person, by phone or by e-mail. The discussion shall include a review of the reasons for the proposed termination of membership. The member in question may be invited to participate in the review, if desired by the remaining members, but does not have a right of participation.. The majority decision of all remaining members will be binding. C. If a member is terminated for reasons other than non-disclosure, or acts detrimental to the organization,
said person shall hold priority consideration for reentry to the organization when proper time arrives.
VIII DUES
AND FEES B. Assessments shall be used for the
benefit of all members covering organization expenses and/or organizational
projects agreed upon by a majority of the membership.
IX COMMUNICATIONS B. A membership listing containing physical addresses, E-Mail addresses and telephone numbers shall be maintained and available for all members. X OFFICERS B. For sake of direction NASSA members will appoint a single member to the title of Director for the purpose of maintaining the consistent direction and goals of the organization. C. Organization finances will be handled by a member appointed by NASSA members. It will be this appointee’s duty to secure, record and distribute said finances per the membership’s desire. XI CHANGES
TO BY-LAWS B. To insure a stable platform any and all changes to the By-Laws approved by a majority of a Quorum shall not be able to be re-acted upon for a period of one year XII DISSOLUTION B. In the event of Dissolution, any and all funds shall be distributed among the dissolving members. These By-LAWS were ratified and set in place by a vote of all NASSA members on December 9, 2009.
