In short, this book is written to help the entry-level rocket scientist successfully get off the ground, and for the Journeyman to advance his knowledge of this fairly narrow topic. Of course, the guidance of an experienced research rocketeer is still highly recommended for anyone interested in working with the materials and formulas contained therein.

Written like a friend standing over your shoulder, helping you understand the significant dangers and the way to avoid them. The pace and content of the book allows for quick success. Each book comes with a CD containing the software mentioned within the book. PropEP is a freeware Propellant Evaluation Program written many years ago by several scientist at Martin-Merietta. It is designed to calculate certain useful propellant parameters. PropEL is an Excel version of PropEP. It runs in either MS Excel or Corel QuattroPro, depending on which version you want to use. This "notebook" has a dozen or so pages designed to make propellant and motor calculations easier. It is a handy tool but again documentation and support is minimal - please don't ask us!!
