Tripoli Pittsburgh has been sponsoring these High Power Rocket Launches for the last eight years with very successful results and attendance. All ground support equipment is supplied by Tripoli Pittsburgh so all you need to bring are your rockets, motors and personal supplies. A facility is always on site. Almost all of our launches are attended by at least one distributor, as a much appreciated convenience, if you need to purchase last minute motors and kits.
These launches are open to any and all interested persons, either to view or participate. However, due to Insurance Regulations only TRA members will be permitted to fly High Power Rockets (Class H and above). NAR members showing proof of current membership will also be permitted to fly High Power.
Due to insurtance regulations all other persons, regardless of age, will be permitted to fly Model Rockets ONLY (up to and including Class D motors). AND this will be on a one time opportunity ONLY so you can become affiliated with one of the two National Organizations. Complete details available at the Launch Site.
NAR members are not permitted to fly on a Research day.

LAUNCH VOLUNTEERS
Members of Tripoli Pittsburgh are asked to participate in launch activities as Safety Officers, Launch Controllers or assisting other flyers at the launch pads. Without these positions we would not have a launch. Non members are welcome to volunteer as well. Its easy and actually fun and adds to your rocket experience. If you care to volunteer you can use our On-Line VOLUNTEER FORM by simply clicking HERE. You need not be an expert to volunteer. |
Important Note: It is recommended that high powered flights anticipated to exceed 3,500 ft should be designed to recover within the launch site area.
