DRAGON'S FIRE 53
July 24 & 25 , 2010

Seems our Launch Reports are getting smaller and smaller. Could it be our attendees count is getting smaller and smaller too?

Saturday's launch found the same people setting up the range in expectations of fellow members and friends attending. It was hot and humid but they worked their butts off to hold a launch for all the people who cry they never get to launch rockets! The days flight count was 20 total. We did have a few level 1s & 2s with George Pike topping the pile on his $88.13 Level 3 project. Very successful we might add. Now he can paint it for Black Rock.

Despite the heat the flying was great. The "hot" wind was blowing in the right direction this time and 99% of the flights returned in easy walking distance. 1% passed the tree line but were recovered. The poison ivy was in abundance as were the ticks and sweat bees. Great East Coast flying conditions!

Sunday's Research Launch was a short day with the range shutting down after 12 flights and oncoming rain and lightning. Range was tore down under dark skies and water!

We'd especially like to thank TEAM OHIO for attending and providing those that did attend with pieces, parts and motors. Thank you Steve.

Sorry there is no pictures, sorry the words are short. Maybe you'll plan to attend DRAGON'S FIRE 54 in August. Those who attended this launch were all in agreement that it was just not worth the effort to set everything up for those expected to attend and then to sit in the heat waiting for others to join the "fun". The new people who did join us and our Ohio friends are exempt from any criticism and we do appreciate their presence - and help. But where are the whiners and crybabies who spoke the loudest when we didn't have a Site and now always seem to have an excuse for not making it?

Out of 50+ paid members the club consists of about 10 people who are working for you to enjoy rocketry. Is this fair? End Report!
