LAUNCHES OTHER THAN OURS
Most of the clubs in the area have
announced their 2010 launch schedules, so I thought I would pass out an updated area launch calendar. The
launches highlighted in BOLD are multi-day regional launches. National Launches are bolded in RED. I’ve
also highlighted the Tripoli Pittsburgh launches in BLUE.
For those of you who
are interested in Research motors, all of the MDRA and METRA launches operated under “independent” insurance rules so research and commercial motors are allowed at all times. However,
you must still be a Tripoli member certified L2 or higher in order to fly a research motor. Some of the PYRO
and BattlePark launches will have Research day, which is noted. Tripoli Pittsburgh’s April, June, July
and August launches are Saturday-Commercial, Sunday-Research. Tripoli Pittsburgh’s May and October launches
are Commercial both days.
Drive times are
in parenthesis and are approximate driving time from the Pittsburgh area. More
information—including last minute changes due to weather—can be obtained from the respect clubs’ websites.
